Summary
edpsych_session, and it is strictly necessary to keep a signed-in user authenticated. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing cookies, analytics cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, social media cookies or third-party cookies of any kind. Because our only cookie is strictly necessary, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 do not require us to obtain prior consent for it, but this policy is published so that it is clear to every user what we do and what we do not do.What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and pixel tags. EdPsych Connect does not use pixel tags and does not use local storage or session storage to identify users or to carry tracking information across sites.

This table is the authoritative public register of cookies set by the platform. A release-gate test runs on every deployment and fails the build if any additional cookie is detected.
What we do not do
- We do not run advertising, retargeting or behavioural advertising cookies.
- We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight or any other third-party analytics or marketing tag.
- We do not share personal data with advertisers, data brokers or social-media platforms through cookies or server-side equivalents.
- We do not use device fingerprinting as a substitute for cookies.
- We do not use cookies to identify or track children. The platform applies the standards of the Information Commissioner's Office Age Appropriate Design Code.
Legal basis and consent
Because the only cookie we set is strictly necessary to deliver the service you have explicitly requested (a signed-in session), we rely on the strictly necessary exemption in the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 and so we do not display a consent banner. If we ever introduce a non-essential cookie in the future, we will update this policy, update our Record of Processing Activities, publish an updated cookie audit, and obtain prior, freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent before that cookie is set.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings, and you can delete cookies that are already stored on your device. Blocking the strictly necessary session cookie will mean you cannot stay signed in to the platform between page loads; no marketing, analytics or advertising cookies exist for you to block.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy on every platform release and at least annually. Material changes will be communicated in the product changelog and, where a change introduces a non-essential cookie, through an in-product notice and a consent request.
