EdPsych ConnectAccessibility Statement
EdPsych Connect is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for every child, young person, parent, carer and professional who uses our platform. We continually improve the user experience for everyone, and we apply the relevant accessibility standards as a baseline rather than a ceiling.
Scope of this statement
This statement applies to the EdPsych Connect platform at edpsychconnect.com and all authenticated workspaces served from that origin, including the Educational Psychologist workspace, the Parent and Carer portal, the School and Local Authority dashboards, and the shared assessment, reporting and collaboration surfaces. It does not apply to third-party services accessed through optional integrations, which publish their own accessibility statements.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformant
EdPsych Connect conforms with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium. The platform is designed, built and operated to meet every Level A and Level AA success criterion, and conformance is verified on every release through a combination of automated checks, manual audits and assistive-technology testing.

WCAG 2.2 â new success criteria
WCAG 2.2 introduces nine new success criteria over WCAG 2.1. Our conformance position against every one is as follows:
Level AAA criteria are not required for AA conformance but are included above because EdPsych Connect elects to meet them.
Accessibility features
Visual
High-contrast colour palette (minimum 4.5:1 body text and 3:1 non-text), text resizes to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality, reflow at 320 CSS pixels, and full compatibility with screen readers and operating-system zoom.
Auditory
Every video published on the platform carries a synchronised WebVTT caption track as a hard release gate, and long-form audio is supplemented by a transcript. Autoplay is disabled and audio never starts without an explicit user action.
Navigation
Full keyboard operability, visible focus indicators that are never obscured, a skip-to-content link, consistent help placement across every page, and a minimum touch target of 24 by 24 CSS pixels for every interactive control.
Assistive-technology compatibility
EdPsych Connect is tested against the combinations below and is known to work correctly with each. Use of other assistive technologies is supported but not specifically verified on every release.
- NVDA with Firefox and with Chrome on Windows 11.
- JAWS with Chrome and with Edge on Windows 11.
- VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and on iOS and iPadOS.
- TalkBack with Chrome on Android.
- Dragon NaturallySpeaking on Windows 11.
- Switch Control and Voice Control on macOS and iOS.
How we verify conformance
Accessibility is a release gate, not a retrospective review. Every change to the platform passes through the following verification layers before it reaches production:
- Automated checks with axe-core and Playwright accessibility matchers on every pull request.
- Manual keyboard-only and screen-reader traversal of every new or changed user journey.
- Contrast and reflow checks at 200 percent text zoom and at a 320 CSS pixel viewport width.
- Independent accessibility audit of the platform at least once every twelve months, with the most recent audit date recorded below.
- A formal accessibility-release-gate test suite that blocks any build shipping a video without a WebVTT caption track, any interactive control below the minimum target size, or any route that regresses automated accessibility checks.
Known limitations
We list known limitations openly so that users can plan around them and so that progress is visible. At the date of publication:
- A small number of legacy training videos carry machine-generated captions pending human review; these assets are flagged in the video registry and are being replaced on a rolling basis.
- Third-party embedded content, where used under an optional integration, is governed by the third party's own accessibility statement.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 20 April 2026 and last reviewed on 20 April 2026. It reflects conformance testing against WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the production platform. The next scheduled review date is 20 April 2027, or earlier if material changes are made to the platform.

If you are not satisfied with the response to your accessibility enquiry, you may contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010 in Great Britain, or the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland in Northern Ireland.
